They use suction/vacuum hoses which are shaped like a hook and hang on the inside of the mouth. They suck out the saliva and water while he operates.

If the dentist is working on the teeth, his assistant is sitting there with a small suction device to get the saliva out. I've never had to spit so he could see better. He just stops for a moment so the technician can suck it out, and then continues.

Well here when you go to the dentist you put like a skinny hose in your mouth and i sucks all of your saliva while he or she works on your teeth.
