No.
If you want to create and/or modify PowerPoint presentations, you need Microsoft PowerPoint, which is part of Microsoft Office, a software package that you must purchase.
If you only want to view and/or display PowerPoint presentations, you can download a PowerPoint viewer for free. The previous answerer has given you a link.

Since you are buying new computer then i assume you will buying off Windows 7. Windows 7 has three major versions: Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate. All of them are capable of doing the stated functions as they all need Microsoft Office and a browser. Microsoft Office can be installed on, and a full-featured browser comes pre-installed with all of them. these additions are basically superset of one another. Home versions can do normal media, home features. Professional adds advanced networking, and management facilities Ultimate adds enterprise based features.

Nope, that's a part of Microsoft Office. You can get a free Powerpoint viewer from Microsoft, but to make presentations, you gotta spend money or get a copy from a friend.

Your computer manufacturer may pre-install office, but it doesn't come with any of the OS's (Home, Pro, Media Center). You can however, get OpenOffice (for free) and use it just like Office. It opens the same file types. Get it here.

Hope this helps...

No. Powerpoint is part of the MS Office program, not part of Windows (Pro or otherwise).
