It truly depends on the scope of the relationship.
Any two people can find a mutual chemistry regardless of age.
But a relationship can be stressed when one person is just coming into adulthood and the other has been living as an adult for years.
A 21 year old may want to see what the club scene is like; whereas a 30 year old may have already decided that he or she hates the club scene.
A forty year old man with kids may not want to start having kids, but his 25 year old wife may be jealous of all of her young friends having babies.
The forty year old, good looking lady next door might turn on the 18 year old gardener today, but when she's fifty, and he's 28, well you know.
My best advice is to enjoy the relationship for what it's worth.
Don't let age stop you from getting to know someone, but be practical about how far it goes also.

Not entirely.
Along with age comes life experience. Your life experiences are very different, your cultural associations are different... it's just that much less you have in common. One person mentions a band, a movie, an historical event that is close to their heart, and the other one says, "Huh?"
Similarly, you may be at different points in your careers. One may be established--or in school or in a throw-away job--while the other constantly needs to stay late at work to advance a career and isn't available for social activities when the other likes.
The years also take a toll on the body. A younger partner may be more interested in going out, dancing, sex, etc.
Your boy/girlfriend may be a different age, but your friends probably aren't. They may not want to hang out with someone so different in age, or the boy/girlfriend may not like feeling like the odd man out. You may find yourself in a situation of having to choose your friends or your date.
It can work, but you have to know what you're up against and not go into it blindly.

Age is a general rule. People are how people act. Is an 18 year old going to be in a healthy mutual relationship with a 40 year old, probably not. There are exceptions but they are rare.

Age is just a number, as long as you both are over 18, or 21, whatever the law says in your state, unless you are talking about more than 15 years difference.

An age difference can make things more complicated, but as long as both people are legal, then it really just depends on the situation. Age shouldn't matter if the two people can accept the difference and are compatible.

It really depends on the age you FEEL rather than are. I mean for all the gossip, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones seem to get on rather well indeed. It's about being in the 'same place' and wanting the same things from life and feeling the same about things that matter to your relationship... like wanting kids, or career aspirations, so forth. So no, unless the age difference comes with a DRAMATIC and problematic clash in ideals, I wouldn't let it put you off.

If both people are over 18, I think age doesn't matter at all! Go for it!

As long as the two people are over 18 it isn't anyones business .If the two have enough in common to keep the flame burning, don't worry about what others think....
