i am assuming you are talking about having dentures put in. i just had a full set of top ones put in on december 8th. my dentist said it will take about 4 to 6 months for your mouth to heal. she said the gums need to shrink and the bone needs to heal, and then when everything is healed you get your permanant set of dentures.

Not sure what you mean. Gums don't really tighten up that I know of. Teeth do with braces.

Are you talking about after a periodontal cleaning? If so, you should be scheduled back with your hygienist to do a re-eval. Typically this is done 2 weeks after the original cleaning, and some of the pocketing should be reduced.
