Great Question!!
I have been reading lot's of books on relationships since my man left me..
One sayz NEVER date a man that lives w/ his parents! Unless..he is there as a caretaker like if a parent is terminally ill.
A man that still lives at home is immature to the core. He WILL NOT be able to cope w/ lifes ups and downs....

The guy w/ debt, you need to wait until he gets his life in order. This may take, realistically ,2 yearz!!

Keep searching honey...

My husband and I disagree on this. So, I am interested in reading the responses. The wise thing for a young person to do, or a person with heavy debt, is to live with their parents for awhile, paying a reasonable rent, until they get on their feet.

This is how the world worked years ago. It wasn't until people wanted the freedom to sleep around all the time and do things they knew their parents wouldn't approve of, that folks started moving out on their own right away. Unless your parents are tyrants and don't know how to respect you as an adult, I think it is fine to move home to give yourself an opportunity to get on your feet. In fact, I think it is the wisest course you could take.

Living with your parents does not mean that you aren't independent. As long as you are helping out with the bills, it is fine, smart actually. Forget what the women would think. Life is expensive these days. If they don't understand, let them go by the wayside. This is from a very pretty, sexy, independent woman that is married to a pig headed man that thinks that living at home is always sponging. I hope my son does come home when he needs it instead of living in poverty for years out of pride.

I would rather date a guy that lives with his parents because you can get him out of living with his parents and making him independent then having a guy with a major debt problem he'll just bug you for money until you're the one stuck under debt

Honestly?, and independent guy with massive debt.

I would rather debt control our lives then his parents.

I can handle debt collectors, but I would have to see his parents all the time.

I would go out with a guy who has both massive debts and lives with his parents, as long as I loved him. LOVE is blind!

neither, but if I had to pick I guess I'd say the guy that lives with his parents cause the other guys probably gonna lose everything and end up on the streets or better yet living with his parents.

I wouldn't go for either of them. Both show irresponsibility. Something Not good for a relationship.
