skin doesnt get "ashy" it just gets dry, and on black people in particular it looks like ash on their skin, but thats easily taken care of with lotion...

generally the lighter skin color you have the less likely you are to notice the dry skin... well by looking at it anyway.

All skin gets ashy. It's just like dandruff. It naturally shows more on black.

White skin is too. The "Ashy" skin is dead skin witch turns white. White on Black obviously shows up well.

Everyone's skin is ashy (white) when it dries up. I'm white and have dry skin problems in the wintertime. White, dead, dry skin flakes off of me. It shows more with a darker skin person. That's all. We are more alike than we are different you know!

Best Wishes,

Sue

Everyone has "ashy" or dry skin. It is just that you can see it better on darker skin.

all skin is ashy,it is just that it shows up more because of a higher color contrast ie:white on black

It's not just black skin that gets "ashy", it's just more noticeable on darker complexions. I know if I don't use lotion on my legs on a daily basis and shave my legs on a daily basis my skin gets "dried out" too.
