It is our nature to cling to life. What we know is that we have an assurance of a blessed afterlife. Your question is like asking, "Since you know you'll go to another party, why not leave the one you are enjoying early? In fact, why not have someone eject you from it forceably?"
God blessed us with life on this earth to glorify him. We can enjoy working for his kingdom, living and loving here and in eternity. To be asbsent from the body is to be present with the Lord, for sure. However, we don't want to hasten it or be traumatized any more than you do.

And how come they didn't want to let Terry Shiavo die? As long as she languished in the hospital she couldn't be in Heaven. It was the church people that wanted to keep her alive, I would have wanted to go to Heaven...which leads me to suspect they really don't believe in Heaven, they just got some kind of wacky religious political thing going on.
I'll tell you this much: the religion of church people is nothing like the religion Jesus had.

We can not stop someone from killing us, and we have responsibilities on this earth that we want to see through.
But if God in his infinite wisdom sees fit to shorten our lives, we accept that graciously.
What you are saying is that I should be so happy to die that I would do nothing to stop someone from harming me or my family. What kind of fool do you think Christians are. Our first concern is God, and then our families.
When God wants us to go, we will have no choice.
Until there is not choice why would I chose to leave my family in distress.
Wouldn't it be hypocritical for me to say that I love my family, and then be careless or wreckless with my own life and not be able to provide for them anymore?

Nope. It's AFTER life. No one is in a real hurry to get to the "after" bit. Best to get the most out of the "life" bit first - wouldn't you agree? Don't have to believe in after-life to fight for your family or yourself!!! There's a lot of people that got burnt at the stake and crucified in the belief they were going to a better place.

i think we as a whole believe in a after life and its in human nature to want to preserve life thats all we know for a fact. if you just allowed yourself to be killed is the same as sucide so catch 22 , now me i dont go looking for someone to kill me and i dont look to kill another soul so i wonder what kind of person would one be to go look to be killed or kill and i wonder why they thnk they would be in a after life then i seriously doubt that would happen

There an old fashion gospel song that says; Everybody wants to go to heaven. But no body wants to die. Lord I want to go to heaven. But I dont want to die.
Why? Its not that we fear death! It just what a joy it would be to hear that mighty shout of the voice of the archangel and the sounding of the trumpet of God, as our body takes on the transformation from physical to the spiritual.
Jesus says; If someone slap you on the right cheek, to turn to them the left.
But, he didnt say what to do after they slapped the left cheek.
Why?
He had the common sense to leave that one up to us.

God has the right to give and take life not humans. We believe in being with the Lord when HE decides to take us home.

Not necessarily. Religious people believe that they have a purpose on Earth for God and that they shouldn't be killed before they can complete their job for God. Also, it's human instinct to defend yourself for survival.

It is up to God to determin when a mortal life is over. Not man.
I would go right now if it were up to me... and take my family with me... but most of them are not saved and it would be against God's Will so I am here for the duration.

I believe in properly being vaccinated, but that doesn't mean I like needles. But on the whole, I thinks it's more to do with being programed by society to believe that death is bad.
