The Golden Retrievor is cuter. The pug is cute, but they get uglier as they get older, while the Retrievor does not.

Goldens are the second most popular pure breed. Looks or personality, they got em both.
Ironically, all dogs seem to look like pugs when they are born. Fortunately, goldens grow out of that!

I think the pugs are cute in like a weird alien way but the way the breathe drives me nuts. Golden's are adorable as puppy's and still really cute as they mature. They are also extremely smart and family oriented.

Golden Retriever! The pug is too wrinkly. Well, actually, the pug is cute, but it is cute AND ugly. The golden retriever is cute AND beautiful.

My opinion is the Golden, if thinking of getting one check into health (nasal) issues in pugs!

Of the 2, I choose Golden retrievers. I don't like the looks of the smashed in faced types of dogs, and they always have trouble breathing. Dogs were not meant to be born without a snout. Why people started breeding dogs this way hundreds of years ago, I will never understand. Chihuahuas are my breed of choice and they keep trying to breed the snout right off of them too.

Both are soooooooooooo stinking cute. But If I had to choose, I'd say that Golden Retriever.

In my opinion, the Golden puppy is cuter. Of course, neither is as cute as a Chihuahua puppy. ; )
