Who has a Canon scanner / all-in-one?

For those who have a Canon scanner or all-in-one:

Every time you preview or scan something, do you get a pop up message saying "Processing calibration data from a scanner"?
I have a Canon Pixma MP600 all-in-one and using Scangear.

Is it normal for that message to pop up all of the time? Does Canon scanners need to calibrate all the time?

Canon software is total crap & Scangear is one of the worst bits of useless software you are every likely to encounter ...

It's going through a full 'calibration' cycle because it's unable to 'remember' the scanner parameters (after all, you might have unplugged one scanner and plugged in a new one for all this hopless software knows).
