Yeah I love PB J but it is not very good for you at all! Bread is carbs jelly is carbs and peanut butter is almost all fat. Yes there is some protien but not a lot. If he wants to continue to eat them I would suggest low fat peanut butter and use fruit spread instead of jelly along with wheat bread.
As for a dressing I would go with Light Done Right by Kraft or any of there no fat dressings.
And go with Romaine lettuce there is more nutrients in the dark green leafs.
Hope this helps if you need moe tips just let me know!

That could be part of the problem. There's a dieting rule I always go by: everything in moderation. If your husband wants a PB and J sandwich, eat one, not two. Salad is also a great option. You can make your own dressings at home that chances are, are healthier than the low fat ones. All you really need is some vinegar (no calories at all!), olive oil (no more than a teaspoon though, and it's the good kind of fats), and salt/pepper/garlic salt, or you could do a whole different combo. My family's never used store bought dressings. I think there's too much junk in them personally.

Also, you can switch to a lower fat or an organic peanut butter and wheat bread if your husband is desperate for that sandwich. There's always an alternative. It might not taste as good, but it'll be healthier!

PB and J's are not good for the waistline at all. Salad would be a great option....anything fat-free for dressing. Kraft's Light Done Right dressings give you all the flavor and less fat and calories, just don't go over board on them. Another thing great on salads is grilled chicken or steak strips made by Tyson that's sold in small bags in grocery stores. They give you some protein and curb hunger well. Hope these ideas help! Good luck to your husband!
