I've heard that we have been called lazy fat and stupid by some. I think we are overweight, we are not at all lazy and we are no more or less stupid than any other peoples.

I for one simply do not care what other people think of our Country...

If they didnt "like" us, then why are they all wanting to come to our Country?

I for one dont care what people think about them either... As we are all GOD's children, an thats good enough for me!

I wish you well..

I think americans are nice but it's true that I've seen more really overweight people than anywhere else I've ever been.I also think that many americans were much more educated and well informed than how they were described to me, however americans seem to feel like america is The Civilization and then there are the rest of the countries.

Oh, please, it's not as easy as that. I'd say for the more reasonable people of the earth, and luckily, those happen to be the ones in power, no matter what the boulevard press proclaims, America is an adorable place full of such a variety of people that it's totally impossible to arrive at any kind of judgment on them whatsoever, and let's not forget that the world could be doing a lot worse than having a super power that happens to believe it's a good idea to let people do what they want.
My personal impression of Americans is that they are adorable, if unnecessarily stressed out, and they haven't fully understood the easy side of life yet.
Let them experience life in Europe and in Oz/ NZ, and they might just get it.

Ive been all over the world, there are some countries (I mean it's people, political stance and general concenceis are two different things) that realy seem to like us, Australia, Isrial and Japan. The sad truth is that most of the people of the world dont like us. Not only do we have crappy education compaired to most other europian countries, but we are fat, and where as people can live off the system in America (getting fat off a steady diet of govt. cheese), if you try that crap in other countries, they will kill you or deport you.Thay have there reasons to think badly of us, but we all act like our **** dose'nt stink. Btw, countries like the U.K. that have our back in the war, don't have it because that agree with out leaderes (or us people for that matter), they just want us in there corner when they pick a fight.

We are the ugly Americans....... have been for years and years.

It used to be a tourist joke.........
Come to "Mexico or France or where ever else you can think of" Americans spend your money, take lots of pictures and then go home.

It was the comedy theme of the 1960's -1970's B movies. You always got to see this rat trap bus rattling down a dusty road with men in Hawaiian shirts and women in frilled skirts carrying over sized bags complaining that no one was getting anywhere on time. And the bus driver and his buddies laughing saying" the ugly Americans making fools of themselves and taking pictures of common things like donkeys or boats"..usually in hushed whispers only the audience could hear.

Now it is just easier for the media to say it is a new thing due to Bush or our government and everyone buys it because they are too young to remember or want to forget.Click on an oldies movie channels sometime usually at 2-3 a.m. and watch for yourself or TIVO it....

I spent two holidays this year in Europe - three weeks in Greece and two weeks in Paris. Both times I found the people very friendly and chatty and helpful - and I didn't get any kind of 'ugly American' vibe from them at all. We didn't get into deep political or philosophical conversations - but we had conversations at length about films and books and art, and they were all willing to share their opinions and anxious to hear ours.

I think in life we get back what we give out.

People of our country dream of going to America. Bcoz of our country's history we consider Americans' freedom fighters and advocates of the free world.

Americans who visit other countries usually make stupid asses of themselves. The rest of the world is not their amusement centre. They often show a lot of contempt for the host population and have no one but themselves to blame when they are made to feel unwelcome. That's the way it is.

I have traveled most of the world on business and most of them are ENVIOUS or JEALOUS of what we have in the United States.

When they are unjustly abused or invaded who comes to their rescue?

Yes, we may try to envoke our culture but it seems to have worked pretty well for 200 years.

Merry Christmas!
