If a person does not pay taxes in America, why should he or she be able to draw on SS, especially since SS is in danger of not existing for current working, tax paying Americans?

It's amazing that everyone has answered 'no', and I'm glad. However, voters, know that some politicians are in favor of SS for illegals (Hilary Clinton, John McCain, Nancy Pelosi for example). Let's write our congresspeople!

haha, no because they are illegal and not contributing to the social security.
If they dont pay taxes and get paid under the table, theyll just be getting social security for free. or more like their stealing for the ones who DO work and pay taxes.

No, because then the US would not have a use for illegals. Most illegals have fake SSN, but deductions are still made with that number and "contributions" are still made to Social Security, thats why the SSN is the simplest document to faslify because our US government wants illegals to use them and keep funding the SS program without ever drawing from it. Our government can stop illegal immigration, but it will never happend. Ilegal immigration is vital to many businesses and balances our economy. Yeah, they use our medical facilties are treated with having to pay, but in the long run its peanuts to the amount of money that save not only consumers but businesses. If a business cannot make a profit, they relocate and go to other countries like they did in the 80's and early 90's now its just easier to import illegals instead of sending the jobs "overseas" In Texas, Governor Rick Perry's largest $uporter was Bob Perry of Perry Homes. Perry Homes makes a killing off illegals building our homes, you actually think Rick is going to minimize his buddy's manpower? Society is blind. Its not the illegals America should be enraged about, it's corporate America. We'll just fight another War. War on Illegals war makes the wealthy weathier like the War on Terrorism and the War on Drugs.Wake up America!

Yes - because nobody gets social security benefits unless he or she or a close family member pays into the system. (For example a wife could get widow's benefits based on her deceased husband payments into the system.)- Imigration status is irrelevant. Nobody's paid for benefits should be confiscated. Suppose an illegal immigrant has worked here for 40 years and paid into the system - If the person is unable to become a citizen he could be deported or even convicted of a crime if he has repeatedly entered the U.S. illegally - but it would be unfair to confiscate his paid for social security pension.- On the other hand, if we are talking about welfare type benefits ,such as SSI ,a different answer might be appropropriate.
Not all illegal immigrants have fake social security numbers. A person may work in the U.S. on a temporary work visa - and then become illegal by overstaying - when his visa runs out. When that happens, his social security number is not revoked. Also, anybody who opens a bank account in the U.S. needs a tax i.d number - I am not sure if these are different from social security numbers in the case of people who can't prove they are legal residents.

Even if they did how would they go about giving it to 100 other people who used the same number add that to 20 million illegal aliens here, there are to many of the same ssn being used and id fraud is common among illegal aliens. There is no way to pay an honest benefit to a dishonest person.

No they should not. I am an American and can't get it, even though I need it...They are being given preferrential treatment and something needs to be done, before there is none left for legitimate citizens! Both Democrats and Republicans are ignoring what American citizens have to say about it and are doing as they please. Maybe we should greatly reduce, the amount of money anyone can contribute towards elections. Ban special intrest groups and illegal aliens from giving altogether to influence government and reduce Congress and Senate's salaries and benefit packages

NO! The first reason being they are here illegally. Second, they do not pay in to it, so it is not our responsibility to take care of them.
Now, I think sometimes there could be excruciating circumstances, however it doesn't change the fact that they are here illegally. If those circumstances arose, then I think we should help them, to the point of making sure they are not in a life or death situation, and then send them back to where ever they came from. After that, they can apply for a visa then citizenship.

One problem with the "guest worker" program is that these idiots say that the illegals should pay back taxes. They problem with that is that since their incomes are so low, no taxes would be paid. In addition they would qualify for Earned Income Tax Credits (EIC). In other words, we would be paying THEM money, along with all the free education, health care, etc.... It's bad enough that illegals get free college tuition when citizens can't get it. They get in-state tuition rates when the military that has returned from Iraq can't.

Since they havent contributed to the System, they shouldnt be able to "draw down" on it!
I have contributed to the System, and I dont have enough "quarters", so, I will be denide Social Security because of that... (I need three more years, and my health is not good, so I may not get it).
In my opnion, they are not entited to anything until they become a citizen of these United States of America. Contribute to our system, and earn the way towards becoming a citizen.
I wish you well..
