The dreams we have in REM sleep are really quite strange compared to dreams in stage three or four in sleep. Other than asking him what he was dreaming about, he could have been talking about anything. After all, if he was having a nightmare about getting trapped in a sinking ship, I wouldn't want to be there either!
But if he was dreaming about his work or your guys' marriage, it doesn't mean that he's unhappy about it. Yes, maybe the marital problems you guys are having are being reflected in his dreams, but they're most likely being amplified, or his fears about where the relationship could go are being projected.
It doesn't mean, however, that he subconsciously wants out. It might just mean he's upset or frightened. Either way, anything said in a dream shouldn't be taken quite so seriously- the subconscious doesn't have that much of an effect on us!

Did you talk to him about what he said? Did he remember the dream?
The dream could have been anything. Don't take it personally unless he specifically says that it relates to you or your marriage.
Are the two of you in marriage counseling? If not, give it a try. It's very hard to solve serious problems in a marriage on your own. Having a third party, especially someone with training and experience in these matters, really helps.

Dreams are just dreams. You could always ask him what he was dreaming about. Tell him he was talking in his sleep. I use to say "Here Kitty, Kitty Kitty," in my sleep. Mom said we as kids use to carry on conversations in our sleep. All of us kids shared a room. They don't necessarily mean anything. If you are having marital problems, you should sit down and discuss things with him. Communication and honesty are very important in any relationship, along with trust. Remember why you both got married. Try to make a date night and rekindle what you use to have before you got married. I would advise counseling if you are worried that you cannot work things out yourselves. I will say some prayers for you.

I wouldn't worry ab out it unless there are signs of depression in his waking state. My fiance sleep talks almost constantly and has told me the most insane things. The other thing you need to take into account is...he might have been dreaming and not wanted to be where he was in the dream. I know I've had my fiance yell at me while sound asleep because I was "throwing snowballs at him". To this day I don't have a clue what he was talking about because I wasn't touching him and we don't live near snow. Not everything you mumble while asleep is your self conscious trying to speak to the world.

I suggest that the man is dreaming about a situation he doesn't want to be a part of, could be anything at all, perhaps not even having anything to do with you. If your marriage is in troubled waters, only the two of you can sort it out, if you are not able to talk, seek help through a marraige counceller.

His subconcious mind is probably working through his problems. But don't ever judge or take action against someone based on what they say aloud in a dream..while they might be working through real life situations and problems, it still IS a dream.

Dont let your imagination work overtime! He could be dreaming about anything! It could be of him waiting in line and saying that or being in a elevator or guess what???? ANYTHING>
You can just ask him: I heard you mumbling in your sleep.. did you have a bad dream? this might open up an opportunity to talk.

The dream could be million things, including work, a vacation, or whatever. If you are having problems you are not going to solve it by analyzing dreams, but by real conversation.

You could just ask him. That'll be the best way to find out the truth. Ask him if he wants to be here.
