I've been drinking coffee for years and have never had any problems. There is no medical proof that it does any harm and some studies suggest that it may even be healthy to have a cup or two a day.

That is a bit much. Caffeine is a stimulant, but a relatively mild one. Over time, though, yes, it's possible that you could have some adverse effects if you continue at this rate. I'd suggest slowly tapering it down to 1 or 2 cups, at the most, in a day.
The key is to do it slowly, because you can end up with a bad headache from caffeine withdrawal if you do this too quickly.
Ask yourself if it's the coffee itself that you crave or the idea of a hot drink. You can begin to substitute herbal teas for coffee if need be, so that you still have that hot drink. I'd start with herbal teas that have a lot of flavor to them, such as a blend called "Hazelnut Vanilla" from a company called "Celestial Seasonings". You can find this in natural food stores and in some grocery stores. I suggest that one only because I know it has a lot of flavor, Experiment with other flavors later on.

One fairly consistent finding has been the reduction of diabetes mellitus type 2 in coffee consumers, an association that cannot be explained by the caffeine content alone and indeed may be stronger in decaffeinated coffee.
Recently, coffee was found to reduce the chances of developing cirrhosis of the liver: the consumption of 1 cup a day was found to reduce the chances by 20%, and 4 cups a day reduced the chances by 80%.

not unless u have a stomach ulcer or acid reflux,in which case u would know,cause ur stomache would burn like crazy !if u have heart disease,it would be too much caffeine.but,if u are healthy and do not have these conditions,keep drinking!!!coffee stimulates full emptying of the bile duct,preventing gallstones.women who drink 2-5 cups per day have some protection against diabetes.it has some protective effects against parkinsons disease as well,and coffee/caffeine is used in the treatment of some nuerological problems,for which it is bebeficial.it is also full of healthy antioxidents,so drink up!cut down if u are pregnant,and quit if u have heart problems.it used to be the oldfiltering process raised cholestrol,but that was in the 50's-1970's,it no longer is true.

sure there are also caffinated ability beverages which will be more desirable for her. i imagine a 1/2 a pot is somewhat too a lot for an 8 year previous, not because i'm judging you, regardless of the indisputable fact that it would want to supply a baby kidney stones and ulcers. also, you would opt for to pass the after college espresso if something because that's going to keep her up at evening and then she'll basically choose more desirable to get going interior the morning.

It is like most everything else we enjest. Some can have a lot over a long time and never have any probloems and then others are very alergic to things and can even die if they eat small amounts. Most of us are some place in that range and most likely you are in the tolerant area or you wold have had problems by noew. For you we can not say but in general there should be no probloem.

You can get addicted to caffeine.

i doubt it my mothers 65 and been drinking coffee foe ever and i mean a lot even in hot weather .me and my sisters have been drinking about 5 or more cups a day.longer then you have.and were ok.don't worry.have you ever tried Colombian coffee its oh so good.i only drink that now try some.

4-5 cups is too much! Caffeine depletes calcium from your bones! And as a female you will need that in later years. It is also staining your teeth. You are weakening your bladder also. Caffeine is a stimulant. You are addicted!
In your later years you will have destroyed your appetite. You will be too thin and boney w/ osteoporosis!
