If you think you are mature enough, prove it to her by doing as she asked you by not having a boyfriend. You are only 12, that is so young. Boyfriends in junior high are so overrated, trust me...I'm 22 now. It's a waste of time. Just hang out with friends and have fun. There is no reason to rush things. The younger kids are when they date means they'll have sex at a younger age..that's such a huge mistake. Do what your mom tells you and just be friends with those immature guys. ;)
You are only young once and you can't screw things up if you are all just friends and do what your parents say. You may not understand now, but your mom has your best interests at heart. When I was younger I didn't get why my parents wouldn't let me date until I was 16, boy am I glad I listened to them now!! I had my first real bf at 17 and even that was stupid. And many more after that!! I'm glad being single now because it is just me and I have much more fun with the guys and knowing that I don't need to pick a guy anytime soon.
Silver*Wolf is right!! If he is willing to wait, then he is worth being FRIENDS with. Wait until your parents are okay with it.

At 12 there is so much about you you need to get to know about before you can teach anyone else about you.
A boy will never make you feel special the way discovering a new talent, or new strength, will make you feel. A boyfriend will never give you the strength that self-reliance does. And boyfriends will come and go with the changing fashions. But you will always have yourself.
Don't rush it, Honey. A boy is just a boy. You are gift!

ahh sweety you got so much life ahead of you, and so much heartbreak, don't try to grow up too fast, life will come to you and sweep you off your feet, if there's anything I can say tho it's keep your inocence close to you, you may think you're ready but there's a lot more to life than boyfriends and all that just have fun and hang out with your girls. Boys will only bring you down. I've been there and I'm still paying for it today.

You remind me of what I went thru at that age..Young girls wanting to have what the older ones do so badly..You have such a long life to live and to me you should be enjoying the younger years..Before you know it you will be grown ,,married and with kids and look back and wish you could turn back time...You are to young for a boyfriend..I often wonder why kids your age is in such a rush...What would you do with one? Just have fun at 12 but by all rights be careful...So much happenin in this world and sure dont want another young girl hurt .....Enjoy being a kid..Play with your friends....You got a long long life to worry about boyfriends,husbands...I sure wish sometimes i could be a kid again..I miss the fun of it all..The innocense of it all....Life is hard hun so take your time ok..You have a very loving mother....Look to her for she will never steer you wrong....APPLAUDING MOM....

why don't you just run away from home and get knocked up by another runaway and have lots and lots of babies.
and laugh your asq off at your stupid mom.
then get your own cardboard box with cute little candles for added charm and warmth. You will be like the lady in a big shoe only youll live in a big cardborard box.

just hang out with him for a while, if ur allowed, maybe go on semi-dates at the mall, and keep the door open for a relationship, but don't rush into anything. if u r really ready, u won't really mind and u will deal w/ it well,and ur mom might let u have a b/f

if you mature then yeah but if you like some boy and he said he likes you to he is probably saying that to other chick you are to young i thought i was ready to at that age but i learned the hard way a boy cheated on me and just live life mama'z

I just turned 14 about 2 weeks ago. I'm not aloud to date yet. I've found my "significant other" but he's willing to wait until I'm free to see him. If the guy you like is interested enough in you to date you, he'll be willing to wait for you. That's what my friends told me. Hope this helped...
