No dating until after you're married! No, just kidding. Heehee. I know how that can feel. The right age is different for everyone! Everybody matures at a different pace, so therefore some people should be allowed to go out earlier than others. If you feel that you truly are mature enough, don't be afraid to ask your dad again. Tell him you really feel that you're ready. If he says no, know that he's trying to do what is best for you! He has your best interests in mind! Going behind your parents back is the worst thing you could possibly do, and you WILL be found out!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!! (and Merry Christmas!)

15 OR 16

Honestly speaking, I know its not what you want right now and even though i started dating at the age of 15 with my mom's permission i regret it terribly. If my father was alive it would have been 18 lol like you.
I think that your dad is right in this case and only wants the best for you. Don't rush the sooner you date the sooner you get your heart broken. Then, you meet another cute, nice guy and again you date again and get your heart broken again (most likely). Don't rush to date.
Let me give you some more advice.
When you do start dating set your limits and standards.

My parents said 16, I dated first when I was 17, I was not ready until I was 19 because most guys only want one thing---sex. Do what your dad tells you to do because you are a minor and under his rule until you are 18. He has your best interests at heart. I probably won't let my kids date until they are 18.

Yeah you do have to be 18 years old because sometimes you drive to your date so you need a car drivers license and thats better than someone dropping you there unless its the person who you are going on the date with

I was 17 before I started dating. I wanted to start dating at 16 but my mom said no. Besides, what's one more year to wait?

Hm.. I think it depends on your maturity of when you can start..But after 15 i think you should deffinately be able to go on dates.. How are you gonna be smart enough to know the difference between a good guy and a bad guy when you're out on your own if you dont get into the know now? haha.
