This is what I like to do cause I am so busy. I usually buy frozen vegetables. For dinner I bake either lean steak or chicken breast in the oven for about 45 minutes to an hour. Fish takes about 20 minutes While that is cooking, I fix brown rice and the vegetables according to the packaging. It is a quick cheap meal. Oatmeal is also cheap as well as dried fruits to put into your oatmeal. Lastly, lunch can be last suppers left overs made as a sandwich.

U can eat healthy for less money by being a Vegetarian and making your veggie foods don't
buy the ready mades. Supply and Demand makes the junk food cheaper than healthy foods!. Also Junk food is advertised alot more than Healthy foods! If we all boycotted junk food then Healthy foods would come down in price. Get a book from your local library on Vegetarianism and also Free Healthy Edible Plants U can find in the Woods!

Processed foods are cheaper to produce because they're mostly made in factories and have a long shelf life, whereas real food has to be planted, nurtured, picked and sold quickly. Even so, it's still possible to eat healthy and cheap foods, if you can be bothered to cook them. Why pay for imported fruits and canned cat-food when there's plenty of localy grown stuff around?

You might think its expensive to get healthy food---but thats if youre shopping at whole foods or central market or in the organic station of the store.

The cost of producing and sending raw foods in a timely manner is expensive. Unless you are growing it yourself. Even then, you must calculate in the time you have put into growing the food.

The guy who said the whole frozen food thing. This is an excellent way to eat healthier. Farmer's Market's the summer are also a good way.

I suggest going to weekend farmer's markets (where you by things straight from the farmer) or stores like Trader Joes to buy fresh fruit and vegetables. Im able to buy organic a lot cheaper. For instance organic marinara/spaghetti sauce is 2.39 compared to Prego or Ragu which is 3.69 Wheat pasta is cheaper. Frozen vegetables (look at salt content/no salt added) are cheaper. Lean meats like ground turkey, turkey lunchmeat. Hummus on tortillas.
If you have a large family Costco/Sam's club you can buy chicken breast /salmon/tilapia and freeze portions. They have tons of frozen vegetables that cost $4-6 a 5 lb bag (broccolli. stirfry vegetables, mixed vegetables. Cereal/and oatmeal is also inexpensive at Sams/Costco

Supply and demand. The more in demand, the more competition, the lower the price. Unfortunately, there is less demand for raw unadulterated (health) foods
