Short Answer:

Barring any medical complications or conditions, it's not rocket science. You simply have to burn more calories than you consume. I.e., exercise more and eat less.

Long Answer and more specifically:

Reduce consumption of high fat, high calorie foods (especially processed foods) and make regular exercise a habit.

You may want to start reading food labels. Go online and find out what kind of nutruients (or lack thereof) you are really consuming, especially if you eat a lot of fast foods. All of this info is posted for free online. Compare what you are eating to the food pyramid guidelines and the US RDA (recommended daily allowances).

Some things to avoid:

Excessive sodium, partially hydrogenated oils and high fructose corn syrup. All of these are very common in processed foods. Also, excessive alcohol consumption (empty calories).

Good stuff:

Fresh (not canned) fruits and vegetables (nutritious), whole grains (filling and good for the digestive tract). Fresh meat and poultry. More work to prepare but healthier. Water and juice.

In summary, to take it off and keep it off requires healthy, permanent lifestyle adjustments (new habits) which may or may not be easy to do over time.

If you have this problem, anything "easy" would suggest continuing with some of the patterns that got you in this situation. You are likely in a practiced, and comfortable pattern.

Must break patterns -- Again, NOT easy.

You've consumed more energy (food consumption) than you've allowed your body to use(lack of physical activity).

Excess weight is your body telling you, "too much food", or "not enough exercise."
What your brain does with this information is another matter.
It often does tricky things like rationalizing -- giving us the opportunity of denying the obvious.

Again, NO easy way to solve this problem (no [safe] magic pill}

Need more physical activity, less food.

Wrong place but I suggest getting some CDs that are fast and some slow so that way you can work out. Or you could check out a place that sells exercise videos.

I stoped drinking soda, eating breads and starches. Along with cutting out candy and sugar snacks.
