went to dmv to register my car since i know the have proof of insurance electronicly transmitted to them i decied not too bring my proof i had the same insurance company for 2 years now they had no proof from them so i had to go back home get my peice of paper with proof . does dmv really get proof of insurance trassmitted to them?

yes some insurance company are hook up but not all ,as of yet if your registration ,says renew via internet,they have your proof,if its says evidence of liability insurance you need to bring proof

Some insurance companies do but not all. On the DMV website you can find out which companies do. Even if your insurance company does e-tranfer your info to the DMV you are still required to carry proof of insurance if you operate a motor vehicle in the state of California.

No, In most states you have to carry the proof of insurance with you.
