My male beagle is 1.5 yrs old. He has been neutered and has recently been checked out for a URI (came back negative). He does not seem to be able to hold his urine at night. Frequently I wake up to find large puddles in my bed. I have tried putting him out right before we go to and it dosen't work. I have tried giving him antibiotics in case it is a UTI. He only has trouble during the day when nobody id paying attention to him. Nothing seems to work. I am desperate.

Do male dogs get urinary incontinence? My female great dane is incontinent (yes great dane pee puddles!) because it is a common problem for her size & spayed too young. She takes a medication called PROIN, which costs $10 per month for a 125 dog. I am so happy she got diagnosed because it is so much better than her leaking!

Don't let him sleep in your bed right now. (He should be trained well enough to jump down and go by the door at least).

Start, (or restart), crate training. Be consistent about it. If you are faithful to the method then it should bring his behavior in check within a few months.

It is also possible he just doen't have the ability to go overnight right now.
Let him out at midnight and again at 3 am. It's easier to let a dog out than to change the bedding.

my dog does that too, and we take her to the vet once a month for a checkup.

there are 2 reasons for this

1) bad behaviour. they arent trained or can sometimes be mad at you ( i know that sounds silly lol) but its true

2) bladder problems. they might have a problem like old people get, with holding in urine. take ur dog to a vet.

wow thats annoying! sorry to hear. my only suggestion is to really watch him and see if hes on a peeing scedural. stay up one night if u can. see what time he pees and track it so u can get up for that time and so u dont have a wet bed u can let him out.
