Demons do exist yes. What do I know about them? They are not to be taken lightly or dismissed. Demons are those angels that fell away and took to following Satan the Devil.
What are they like? An example is found in the bible in Matthew 8:30-32. Jesus had come across two demon possessed men. When he exorcised them, they recognized him for who he was. They knew his power. In the verses I sited they ask Jesus to send them into a herd of swine that were "far off" He did. What did they do. They all plunged themselves over a cliff and into the sea so that the whole herd died. They took pleasure in that. It's an example of their cruelty.
What can they do to people? Well there is such a thing as possession. I, personally, believe there's more to it than just the craziness and foaming at the mouth possession all the movies seem to love to show. If you look at some of the incredible acts of cruelty human beings perpetrate on one another... if you look at people like Hitler... when you have men chopping the arms and legs off little children to make a point against an enemy tribe in Africa ... don't you think they were under the influence of some evil? I do.

The World of the Jinn
Throughout history man has always had a deep attraction for the supernatural and the unseen. The existence of a world parallel to our own has always fascinated people. This world is commonly referred to as the spirit world, and almost every set of people have some concept of one. With some people, these spirits are no more then the souls of dead people- or ghosts. With others, spirits are either the forces of good or the forces of evil - both battling against one another to gain influence over humanity. However, both of these explanations are more in tune with folk tales and fantasy. The true explanation of such a world comes from Islam. Like every other way, Islam also claims to explain this realm of the unseen. It is from this realm that Islam explains to us about the world of the Jinn. The Islamic explanation of the Jinn provides us with so many answers to modem day mysteries. Without the knowledge of this world, the Muslims would become like the non-Muslims and be running around looking for any old answer to come their way. So, who or what are the Jinn?

Some "demons" are mental illness. Psychotic behavior can come about for a number of reasons; an exorcism provides a ritual giving a person a reason to stop this behavior.
Can people be posessed by spirits? I think so, but I don't think that they are "demons" or "agents of a devil". Some people are better conduits, without training to prevent themselves from being used. Some spirits, like people (being simply "people" without bodies) will take advantage of such people. I don't really think it's any more than that.

In religion, folklore, and mythology a demon (or daemon, dæmon, or even daimon) is a supernatural being that has generally been described as a malevolent spirit. A demon is frequently depicted as a force that may be conjured and insecurely controlled. The "good" demon in recent use is largely a literary device (e.g., Maxwell's demon), though references to good demons can be found in Hesiod and Shakespeare. In common language, to "demonize" a person means to characterize or portay them as evil, or as the source of evil.
As the Iranian Avestan and Vedic traditions as well as other branches of Indo-European mythologies show, the notion of 'demons' has existed for many millennia.
Ancient Egyptians also believed in demonic monsters that might devour living souls while they traveled towards the afterlife, although demons per se did not exist in Ancient Egyptian belief.
The Greek conception of a daemon (< δαίμων daimōn) appears in the works of Plato and many other ancient authors, but without the evil connotations which are apparent in the Septuagint translation of the Hebrew Bible and in the Greek originals of the New Testament. The medieval and neo-medieval conception of a "demon" in Western civilization (see the Medieval grimoire called the Ars Goetia) derives seamlessly from the ambient popular culture of Late (Roman) Antiquity: Greco-Roman concepts of daemons that passed into Christian culture are discussed in the entry daemon, though it should be duly noted that the term referred only to a spiritual force, not a malevolent supernatural being. The Hellenistic "daemon" eventually came to include many Semitic and Near Eastern gods as evaluated by Christianity.
The supposed existence of demons is an important concept in many modern religions and occultist traditions. In some present-day cultures, demons are still feared in popular superstition, largely due to their alleged power to possess living creatures.
In the contemporary Western occultist tradition (perhaps epitomized by the work of Aleister Crowley), a demon, such as Choronzon, the "Demon of the Abyss", is a useful metaphor for certain inner psychological processes, though some may also regard it as an objectively real phenomenon.
Some scholars[1] believe that large portions of the demonology (see Asmodai) of Judaism, a key influence on Christianity and Islam, originated in Zoroastrianism, and were transferred to Judaism during the Babylonian captivity (apparently 100 years before the emergence of monotheistic Zoroastrianism) and the Persian era.

I worked as a detention officer for Houston county Georgia for three years and yes I know I have seen demons face to face. You don't see them acting up in society much because people call patrol to come get them and they got locked up for disorderly conduct until the episode passes. Some people were drunk or high, some have high blood pressure and some are mentally ill (This can also qualify) But there are others who take on very spiritual themes of disorderly conduct and will set off your Holy Spirit alarms. I am also courious about turrets syndrome but do not know for sure. Here is a great example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9o78vDIBYz8

Demons come in many forms. They are tricky and are able to fool billions of people. The demons are as real as you and I, except they are evil invisible spirit creatures dwelling among us. They enjoy fooling people into doing and believing in things that are condemned by Jehovah God. They pretend to give people messages thru dreams, future tellers, omens, etc... They particularly enjoy harrassing humans by possessing them and fooling them into believing that holy spirit is upon them and the demons use human as a puppet to do things or speak in tongues which others do not understand. They also can appear as ghosts, pretending to be someone who has died. They can also give power to someone to cure an illness. They make people believe that there is life after death. They work in line with Satan the Devil to fool people so that people don't worship God the right way.
They only way to protect yourself from the demons is to look to the one that is more power than they which is Almighty God Jehovah.

I know this is going to be hard for some to believe. But yes. I had an actual enounter with Satan himself. It happened one night while doing Bible study, regarding false religions, and research I was doing, for someone involved in witchcraft. It was back in the late 70's when the news was reporting cases of animal sacrifice, and disacration of graveyards. Finding out this sourse, I sent the info, to a local news station who did a special on the subject and reveal a good bit of the info they had retained from me. That night, while continuing my study and research, out of know where, they was an irrey presents, that manifested behind me, and I could feel the heat of his anger, against by back. My whole entired body was filled with fear, the hairs on my body, were standing straight up and my whole body was trembling. I cried out, Lord Jesus! What is happening? Then very softly the Holy Spirit spoke saying. Start reading scriptures. Which I did, flipping through the new testament. I ended in the Book of Revelation where it reads; And an angel came down from hell having the key to the bottomless pit and a chain in his hand, and he laid hold of the dragon the old serpent called the devil and satan and bound him for a thousand years.
To the present behind me, I said; Satan youre nothing. Here a mire angle will one day take a hold of you and lock you into the bottomless pit. It was then, that he vanished.
Thats how you defeat Satan! Continue reminding him of his furture!

You're asking about demons like in the movies, so how can we take your question seriously... respectfully speaking?
Has anyone here seen a "demon"? If anyone answers yes, then they are either lying, mentally ill, or high on mind-altering drugs.
No, there are no demons. I'm sure you will say "how do you know that?" but when the issue of belief in something illogical arises, the burden of proof is on the believer, not the skeptic. We function in a world of logic, after all, and if someone claims belief in something otherworldly or supernatural... well... WHERE IS THEIR PROOF? Telling me that your neighbor Jeremiah lives in a haunted house and that "he's SEEN A GHOST WITH HIS OWN EYES!" is not proof.

When I look in the mirror the first thing in the morning I see the face of haggard old man. He's grumpy, growls back at me and after I swish a cloth over his face he smiles and then I brush his teeth and his bares them proudly.
As I leave I feel the gnashing of importance staring at my backside wishing me a good day at the board room chair; staring, and hoping I will meet someone who has a greater potential and we can form a union to make a bigger and better business bond that will drive out all the Mom and Pop stores around the world.
Yes, young un, their be devils and demons all around.
Not me though, I am just a broken, poor old man hoping to find a nice little middle aged women with a small store who will love me and give me a job keeping her shop shelves nice and neat. And making sure all her little boxes and stocked shelves are easily accessible.
Have a good one.
