Because the word "dinosaur" was first invented/used in 1841.
However, the Bible does mention behemoth, leviathan, and tanniyn, co-existing with early mankind..These probably are the Biblical references to what, after 1841, are called dinosaurs.
I think it is the behemoth which "skeptics" say is just a reference to an elephant. However, the behemoth had a tail that sways like a cedar tree; most elephants don't have tails that impressive.
-----------------------
God speaks of behemoth as moving "his tail like a cedar" (Job 40:17). When the world displays a hippo who can move his tail like a cedar tree, we will consider such a position! A hippo has a tail like a "stick" not a cedar tree. How does a cedar move? We can understand it swaying with the wind. The Behemoth had a tail that moved like the swaying of a cedar tree. Folks, lets face it, a hippo has no such thing. Anything else is a tale of fabrication and a figment of fiction!

This is why I love Yahoo a&q, 'cause there's always someone who asks a queation that i've always had!!!
If "in the beggining there was nothing", and God created light, plants, animals, man and woman, where the hell were the dinosaurs? They really existed and there's proof of it, but men did not existed during the existence of dinosaurs (Cretaceous period), so this is very confusing, I believe in God, the bible, but I really dont have a clue about this if I stick to the Bible teachings. On the other hand, if we stick to science we know the explanation: dinosaurs dissappear, and later on, men evolve.

Who says they are not?. The English word "dinosaur" did not appear in our language until the 18th century. So it would be impossible for it to be in a bible translated before then. There are 2 animals mentioned in the Bible that we do not know what they were-the Behemoth and Leviathan. BTW-kangaroo is not in the Bible either as well as thousands of animals.

Many people think that leviathans were dinosaurs. They are mentioned in the Scriptures, in more than one place. See Job 3:8; 41:1.
So they existed, but ask from yourself "Where did they come from? "

They are mentioned just not using the name "dinosaur"....
Behemoth (brachiosaurus) is mentioned in Job 40:15-24
Job 40: 15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Job 40:16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Job 40:17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
Job 40:18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
Job 40:19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
Job 40:20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
Job 40:21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
Job 40:22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Job 40:23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
Job 40:24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Animal were created thousands of years before domestic animals and last Adam for the world to be in the earth.
So all these thing are of different ages and day means ages and all days can be one day and with that, time adds up to be a great figure.
Gen.1:1,2 ALL EXIST.
Gen.1:2-25; Much preparation of the earth.
Gen.1:26; The time of the world in the earth begans.

Neither are armadillos. Why would they be? The Bible isn't a book of zoology, and dinosaurs have nothing to do with salvation history. "Behemoth" and "Leviathan" are, respectively, the hippopotamus and the crocodile, as any competent scripture scholar recognizes.
