So what you are saying is that the universe is so complex that it had to have an even more complex creator. It would follow that the creator would have to have an even more complex creator. And so on.
What you just did was create an infinitely long upward spiral of complexity. That isn't even logical. And on top of everything all you did was delay the real question without any evidence to do so.
I'll just stick with the Universe was always here in some form.

Because we live in a society where we only believe that which we can see. The visual rules. Contrast that to an era where Truth still could exist outside the realm of eyesight. We are ruled by the visual. We fall in love with the hottest babes, we watch the goriest movies, and we most trust the news that we see on NBC or CNN or whatever.
So don't be surprised that people today can't believe in a God you must have faith in.

Simple...
If God were to be proven as an ironclad reality, then that would mean the if there's a Heaven then Hell must also exist. Hell means punishment for foul acts and 'minor' moral indescretions. Imagine that, people having to live up to an expectation in order to be rewarded. Consequences for your actions, wow, unheard of. People then would have resolve themselves to raise the standards of their lives and behaviors or face the cousequences. No sex outside of one's own marriage, theiving, heck even what you think, eat, or wear. Life is easier without standards, and a lot more fun.
As far as the programming...it looks like an initial AI prog was written and has just been left to run on its own power.

The way I see it, in large part it is a matter of people not WANTING to believe in a creator. See, if you believe in a creator then you must accept that he has the right to establish certain rules about our behavior and to expect us to adhere to them or be accountable. If there's no God there's no accountability. That is one of the largest reasons for the mess the world is in. No one feels accountable to a God that doesn't exist.

Well, it means you must believe in someone you cannot see, and answer to someone of a higher authority. The parable of the sower answers that very, very well... some are too hard to hear it, some are too crowded with their own ideas, some are choked by the world and it's desires...

Because all the programming of the belief in the christian god has already been forced onto people for 2000 years. It's about time people stop preaching about that which no one wants to hear about anymore. People are able to think for themselves now, as opposed to having people set rules for them to live by.
I like to enjoy FREEDOM and it's something not experienced by every religion.
As far as the original programming of everything, Father Time and Mother Nature. Thank you.

Even Microsoft Windows couldn't be a product of chance...though it is rumored to be made by a lab full of monkeys on computers.

because it basically takes the same amount of "faith" to believe
that a Creator does NOT exist than to believe that there MUST be a Creator
(& i am not taking about religion here)

We don't know, but believe different things. I simply say: you cannot know in this life. Believe if it makes you feel secure.
