Why are you so calm about it? Aristotle said fearing death is useless, because we can't stop death, and we don't know what it's like- death could be our greatest liberation. But that's ancient philosophy. With modern science, it's pretty clear that all that awaits us on the other side is nothing- not even an "us" to experience this nothingness. And, man, that sucks. The fear I have of death isn't of nonexistence- it's not having the ability to enjoy life any further, of not being able to love, or cry, or kiss, or touch. So it's more a resentment of death. Nobody wants a good thing to end, and life is pretty damn good.

It does not frighten me.
I'm going to live forever.
I have passed from death unto life, eternal life.
That's why God said;
Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
We all must eat (assimilate or consume knowledge) of the tree of life (Jesus Christ), to live for ever.

Even science tells us that SOMETHING cannot turn into NOTHING.
It's the law of conservation of matter. . .or the law of conservation of energy. . .however you want to look at things.

I didn't know it did. I find it rather comforting myself, and far preferable to any theological alternative of eternal life. How boring would that be?
