I know that a man is going to be a man and has a problem with monogamy. So as long as he treats me right what is the problem? Right?

There are two questions here - a) one is what is fair to you and the other b) what is fair to the women he is dating.

Let's start with b: is it fair to be untruthful to people? I would say no. An honest man or woman would let the other person know what his or her total situation is and then let them make a decision if they want to become involved.

Now let's go to a: you say you are in an open relationship. Are YOU dating other people and if you are, are YOU telling them about this "boyfriend" ?

Why are you interested in someone is who dishonest with other people?

And are you being honest with yourself about wanting to have an "open" relationship or are doing this only so that you or he can have sex with other people without "cheating" ?

I am interested in other people's opinions here. (www.BBWLuv.com)

No, they don't work, because sooner or later one of will realize the only reason you wanted an open relationship was that you just wanted to have someone until you find something you like more, and when you do find the person you like more, you will end up terminating the relationship with party you had the "open" relationship with.

It is also not fair to the other people you both are dating unless you are upfront about your "open" relationship; they have a right to make an informed decision if they want to be part of that sort of an arrangement; most people won't settle for being second fiddle and would not want to be part of it.

Open relationships to me are pointless, I mean can you explain the point of being in a relationship if you are going to see and sleep with other people. The relationship has completely diminshed and is therefore non existant. I mean this for me is something that I could never do, hoorah for those that can but I dont see why you would be with someone and let that person go and sleep with other people. For what? What are you getting out of it? Being able to sleep with other's yourself? So why be in a relationship in the first place???

All a open relationship means as far as I am concerned is that whoever is involved in one, whether they be male or female, wants to be free when freedom is feasible, and for that reason commitment is never an issue become it is not a requirement. That's like putting a pin hole in a jimmy before you put it on, what's the use, if one wants to be a playa, play on, but be honest about it. Real playas don't lie, and game recognizes game.

Yes, open relationships can exist. Some people are just not ready for commitment and this is fine as long as you are honest about it with your partner. I have been in several open relationships in my life and I have no regrets about it.
