I also believe that God is there for you. But I don't believe that He would want you to be depressed about this. You can't change the way they are and how they feel, so you're going to have to accept this fact. Hopefully, later on in life things may change, and you can joyfully accept them again. But in the mean time, give your pain to Jesus, He says to "cast all your burdens upon Him". I know what you're going through, I'm also alone....at work in Iraq. I wish you only the best of luck and I hope that I've helped you.

I feel for you... Christmas in indeed a time for family and friends. When I was a child , I grew up thinking that this was the tradition and I consider those days the best Christmases ever. I was alone this Christmas and it is terribly hard. I had to be away due to work. Its hard to be lonely. The only thing that allows me to cope is always knowing that God is with me and He loves me.. this too shall pass..

You're right-- God is there for you. Apparently, your kids are not. It's really hard for anyone to know what is going on from your brief description. The best you can do is to try to put things into proper perspective. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Christ; not Santa, ipod, elmo, or PS3. It is a time of mass confusion, and I suspect your kids are caught up in that mess. Maintain your values, stay the course, be patient--it will pay off. God bless and good luck.

Maybe they don't accept you because you tried to shove religion down their throats. Now you are paying for it. Maybe next time, you should learn to not judge your kids the way you did. Anyway, good thing for you Christmas is only a day.

Not to sound mean but I find that children do not care to spend time with their parents for two reaons, One they are spoiled brats or two. (most common reason) their parents drive them freakin crazy.
