Why are you talking to a bunch of strangers on the internet, sistah? Go to your doc and have him/her talk to you about your options. Contraception pills prevents conception. It doesn't matter if it's abortion or not. It's your body, sistah, no one else. good luck.

All hormonal birth control (including the Pill, the Patch, Depo-Provera shots, and Plan B) works in three ways:

1. By attempting to prevent ovulation (the release of an egg). It fails at this 5-60% of the time.
2. By thickening cervical secretions, which may prevent sperm from reaching the egg.
3. By creating a hostile environment in the womb, which will prevent the implantation of a newly conceived human being. If the baby cannot implant, he or she will die and pass out of the womb. By the time implantation occurs, the little boy or girl is already 7-10 days old.

All hormonal birth control has the potential to abort your child. There is no way to tell each month whether pregnancy was prevented or a child was killed. To read more about this, visit:

No regular birth control is not abortion. Regular birth control simply prevents ovulation and fertilization. Until an ovum is fertilized there can be no abortion period. Plan B IS an abortive. It does NOT prevent ovulation or fertilization. Plan B ONLY prevents (at best) the implantation of an already fertlized ovum from implanting within the uterus. IF you are using plan B and are having regular periods then you just might be aborting along with those periods. Or if an ovum is fertilized higher up in the tubes and you have a period that ovum can STILL implant upon completion of your period. Plan B is not as effective as regular birth control. At BEST plan B is ONLY 85% effective, because if does not prevent ovulation or fertilization.

It takes up to two days for conception to occur. So, if you are referring to the morning after pill it isn't abortion at all. It is more likely than not that conception has not been reached by the time the pill is taken. For it to be considered abortion there would have to be a fertilized egg. If you're just referring to "the pill" than it isn't considered abortion at all. It "prevents" fertilization.

"Hormonal methods of birth control [including the birth control shot] keep a woman's body from releasing eggs. If your body does not release an egg, you cannot get pregnant."

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, "Birth Control."

(Read the whole pamphlet - it's good information.)
