how long does it take from the dog mating, to the whelping?

The same as any other dog. 58 to 63 days, give or take. I don't mean to sound rude, but if you don't know, you're doing, you shouldn't be breeding. Leave it to the professionals Breeding should be done to better the breed..

the same as any dog 63 days, give or take a day. chihuahua's are known though for needing c-sections so keep a close eye on her if she goes into labor and has been pushing or seems in distress for more than an hour call your vet immediatly.

Whelping may take place from the 59th to the 65th day. Puppies born before the 58th day will probably be too young to survive.

I was told by the vet I used to work for, you can guarantee it from 63 to 65 days. All dog's gestational periods are the same.
