Pope John Paul II had more charisma than the new does. Catholic and non-Catholics all like and respected him.

Yes without doubt but I think actually being Polish was an advantage bringing him to the forefront of non Catholic attention, whereas the current Pope is seen almost as a temporary replacement having been the previous encumbant's right-hand man

Very much so but everyone is different.Clinton had/has charisma and in my opinion was a spineless jellyfish of a president.His wife on the other hand has no charisma but would probably make a better president than he did.

Definitely. He had the kind of charisma that you rarely see in a Pope. Benedict looks and acts like he's dead already.

I'm not Catholic so I really shouldn't give an opinion, but the previous pope certainly seemed more accessible and friendly. I can't speak about policy but something about Benedict just makes me nervous; like Hannibal Lecter. Sorry for the comparison but that's what he makes me think of...

I agree but the new Pope seems very caring. I hope he changes things. Anyways, I like the fact that he's an ex-nazi. goes 2 show it's spossible to be forgiven for sins.
