The Catholic Church allows marriage between Catholics and non-Catholics.

Because the Church recognizes the tremendous challenge that the interfaith couple will face, they may have to get permission from the bishop.

With love in Christ.

Because the Bible says that we "should not be unequally yoked" and with all the sincerity of my heart, it depends on how strong each person is grounded in his/her faith. I consider Catholics to be in tremendous error when it comes to theological issues and that truth does not reside within those walls.

Just imagine, why would I want my wife to live a life I feel is wrong. This will lead to constant fight and you could never bring up religious issues. Think of how your children would be raised. Faith is a foundation for any household, you wouldnt want your children not knowing what to belive---and I have seen it happen.

Study for yourself what the differences are and see if you would be willing to give up some of your beliefs that you hold true

They can.

The Catholic Church will only marry them if the protestant converts.

If you mean in the US, who says they can't? Now if you mean within the "church" with all the trimmings that would depend on hopefully the wishes of the bride and the groom.

Some families go as far as to have two weddings, most don't care as long as it is a Christian wedding.

it is not a matter of can't it is more a matter of the difference in religions and what one practices. the catholic church frowns very much on marrying outside of there own religion mostly because they r afraid of losing parishoners

yeah but you can also go and get another pastor or judge and marry you if they catholics wont. they can get married but it is advised not to. not just bacause of different beliefs but what about if you have kids. who church are they going to attend. not all were argue but still some marriages break up cause of this. one parent wants the kids to go to there church and vise versa. just like a christian getting married to a non christian. you can do that but again they advise not to. just cause of conflicts.
