I was given a Christmas ham from a friend this Christmas. I don't eat or cook ham, but I thought I would give it a whirl, but teh package gives no cooking instructions and I have no idea if its prebaked or anything. The only thing it says on the package is:Old Natural Ham? in its natural juices? That's it? Can someone help? Thanks.

Cut it open plop it in a cake pan and lather it with a mixture of 1/2 c. root beer to 2 cups brown sugar. Bake at 350* for 1 hour and slice up to eat.

Package any leftovers in plastic bags and freeze.

Make Au Gratin potatoes with ham in them.

Make Omelette's for breakfast next week.

Make Chicken Cordon Bleu later in the week.

So many things you can do with ham...

keep it simple, try cheap honey and some Dijon mustard or yellow mustard maybe some onion powder or garlic powder and mix all together, if honey is thick, warm a little in a microwave and mix. cut X's in ham all over, skin not to deep just surface and rub. place in large baking pan or foil pan cover and bake on 300 for about 2 to 21/2 hours or more depending on size and then let rest for about 15 Min's and cut. you can freeze left overs and make lots of things from eggs and ham to sandwiches. if you want you can even grind it in a food processor and mix with some cream cheese, sour cream and grated Cheddar cheese warm it, serve with some crackers and you have the perfect new years dip (season it to taste) good luck!

ham is already cooked when being sold in the market, you can re-heat it if you want in an oven, slice it thinly and fry it if you want and have a ham sandwich, chop it and have a ham omelette.
