I read in a book called "the black book of hollywood beauty secrets" that if u mix it together, it'll be a moisturizer for your face. Queen latifah uses it for her face.
What do you think about this? is it too harsh? have you ever heard of it/done it? What will the baking soda do to your face?

I used Cetaphil as a shower cream and Cetaphil lotion to apply onto my skin just after shower. Never use baking soda on your skin because it is likely to irritate the skin causing it to turn red and rashes may occured. There are other types of moisturizer available in the market, you don't have to take this kind of risk.

Mixing baking soda with face wash is actually not a moisturizer, it's an exfoliator. And it's pretty gentle unless you use too much baking soda or rub too hard. I've been doing this for a few years. I'm a makeup artist & I've never heard of it being bad for you. Like I said, just use more cleanser than baking soda & don't be too rough when you rub. Watch how your skin reacts after the first time you do it & if it seems okay then you can contiue to do it once or twice a week.

Baking soda is actually good at removing product build-up from your hair, too. Shampoo your hair & BEFORE rinsing the shampoo out, when you've got a lot of lather, sprinkle in a handful of baking soda. Massage it around then rinse & condition as usual. It really cleans your hair & makes it shiny. I only do it about once a month, though, because it can strip your color if you do it too often.

Good luck!

I use baking soda and my cleanser several times a week. I have found no scrub that can compare to how smooth & clean my skin feels after using baking soda. I also use it weekly in my shampoo to strip my hair of product build up. Baking soda is an amazing beauty product. I use it religously & would never spend outrageous money on commercial scrubs. But I don't use Cetaphil although there is nothing wrong with it. It's a perfectly fine cleanser. I just like my cleanser to foam & smell good. You can use baking soda to brush your teeth as well. It really makes you feel clean.

It's not a moisturizer it's a facial or body scrub. It's a gentle scrub but you have to wash it off
