They are litterally thousands. So I can just give you the categories that they are usually included into:
_Angels (the only saints that are no human beings). But they are rational spirits, acting as messagers of God and helpers of the faithful, that's why they are considered saints)
-The Virgin Mary (the Mother of Jesus&with a special role in the history of salvation is a "category" on her own)
-the Patriarchs and Prophets (they lived before Jesus and:either built up the people of the New Testament-the patriarchs-or called the people to conversion and foretold Jesus'coming-prophets)
-the Apostles and disciples of the Lord. These are people who met Jesus during their lifetime and spread his teachings.
-martyrs:those who died for the faith in Christ
-Shepherds of the Church: popes, bishops and priests
-Doctors of the Church:those who were instrumental in explaning or phrasing Christian teaching better.
-Monks and Virgins: people consecrated fully to God, including celibacy and persevering in that choice to the very end
-all the others are called "confessors". That means they bore witness to their faith with their lives. We have saints who were royalty, and we have saints who were circus dwarfs: we have eye doctors and diplomats, housewives or peasants, students and illiterate slaves. The only common thing is that they took their faith so seriously that they lived it without compromise.
We don't worship saints just venerate them. We just ask them to pray for us as we would some friend on earth. They are no intermeduaries between God &humanity, the only such mediator being Jesus himself.

st. Damien, (spelling ?) lived with the lepers over on one of the Hawaiian islands. He took care of them. he did not have the decease when he went there. Padre Pio, he died just a few years ago, many miracles were done by him. Mother Teresa, died a few years ago ministered to the sick and dying poor in India Also, all living Christians are called saints. With a small s. And there are many Church's around the world where Gods miracles still take place. But like Jesus. They don't make to much of a do do about it.
