Satan tries to copy what God does but it is never lasting or good. Yes Satan has powers to do signs and wonders but it can never compare to Christ's finished work on the Cross. Satan cannot create life.

I, personally, do not believe that Satan has the power to create life. I believe that the act was an illusion or "trick" performed by the wise men.

No...Satan can only do what God allows him to do...
If for this purpose, this event, to show the greater power of God it may look that way, but God controls all things ultimately.
Satan did not create life or himself, and he did not go off after this and create other life - he can't.

From the context, i think of that the bible shows that the 'secret arts' or 'enchantments' of the sorcerers are an inferior skill. The loss of the magicians' staffs gave data of the prevalence of God's skill while Aaron's team gulped down theirs. This copycat approach proved to be ludicrous while, somewhat of removing the plagues, they prolonged them to the further soreness of the folk.

Satan has many of his own powers. The challenge is not to be overcome by them. So I would think, he either can create life or he can at least have an influence over the creation of it.

no one can create life except god. and they didnot create they just used the magic. Satan cannot create life and ı dont think he can do magic either. what we muslims believe is: he cannot do anythink to make us bad he just whispers in our heart. that is the only think he is allowed to do. and he doesnot take people away from their way. he just whispers bad ideas but you choice what to do? so god knows better but maybe he will go to heaven too because he does what he did promise to god. Who keep his promise to god? do we? but look he does?
