If somebody breaks into my home and shoots my infant child in the head, and later repents to god for doing so, he gets to go to heaven whereas I ( an unassuming by-stander who doesn't worship jesus) will be sent to hell when I die, and on top of that, when I get there I won't get to see my child again because he'll be in heaven?

Lisa: Purgatory wasn't in the original bible, it was added in as an after-thought by the catholics to reconcile the difficulty people had with accepting the fact that all children go to hell because they haven't accepted jesus.

The Bible says in
Isaiah 55:8-9
8 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD.
9 "As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

so .. first of all, the Understanding or Judgement of God is not like that of man.. He worketh in Perfect love and He is a God of Principle..take note: *PRINCIPLE* now you say you are not a believer, that means you don't read your bible well enough because if you do or sort to the know the principles of God which is in the Word of God, you will have every answer to the questions of life both spiritual and physical.. whateva is happening to us in life is as a result of our ignorance the bible says
:"in Hosea 4
that my people perish because of lack of knowledge"

if you will sort for the word of God,
It has GOD PROMISES AND HIS POWERS.
and they all belong to YOU by faith...

it doesnt matter How sinful anyone can be God mercy is Infinitely abundance He forgives doesn't matter how it affects us .. if we know His word, we can prevent the enemy at work in our life by the power of God that worketh in us,

Ephesians 3:20
"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us"

or wrongs that are done to us by people from God's Understanding, he said Vengeance is mine

Deuteronomy 32:35
Vengeance is Mine, and recompense;Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them."

Brother, study the word of God throught the inspiration of the Spirit Obtainable through prayer faith and good works and God will not only reveal HIMSELF to you but will console you immeasurable.. remember Salvation is personal.. God works with everybody individually so don't be concern with the murderer they have a score with God ..

I seriously doubt if a murderer will make it into heaven. If you don't receive the Gospel in this life we believe you will possibly be given another chance in the afterlife.
We also believe that children that die before the age of majority considered to be 8 y/o will be called back to heaven to be with family. We do not believe in people being born under the sins of Adam, we believe that people will be JUDGED ACCORDING TO THEIR OWN SINS AND NOT THE SINS OF THEIR FATHERS.
DEUT 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his down sin.
Matt. 19: 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
We believe that there are two sins that fall under the UNFORGIVABLE catagory.
1. Blaspheming against the Holy Ghost: ABSOLUTELY REJECTING THE HOLY GHOST AND GOD.
2. Murder
The reasons for this is that in order to TRULY RECEIVE FORGIVENESS we must do certain things.
1. We must ask for it, and depending on the severeity ask the person against who we commited the wrong, Confess it to a church authority, Confess to God in prayer.
2 We must make restitution for what we did. If damaged someones property then we must fix it, or replace it if not fixable. How can we ask for forgiveness of someone we murdered? How can we make restitution(replace that life) of someone we murdered?
3. Turn our hearts away from sinning. Change our thoughts, and behaviors to be more Christ like.
So as you can see you would have a better chance of getting into Gods Kingdom than a murderer would and seeing your child.

The criminal: Only the Lord knows what was in that person's heart and whether he was even in his right mind. Only He can judge.

The bystander: Only the Lord knows the choices that person made in this life and if they ever even heard the gospel or honestly had a chance to reject the gospel. Just having someone mention the gospel in your presence doesn't mean you have ever heard contrary to what some will say. Many will still be taught after death, although they will be judged according to their heart and the choices they made while on earth.

Why would your child be in heaven? Did you get him baptized? Because if not, your child would go to limbo, or purgatory, you would go to hell, and the murderer would go to heaven.

I prefer not to believe in heaven or hell. In my scenario, somebody breaks into my home and shoots my infant child, and from that moment the child is gone. I shoot the murderer as he comes into the courthouse, and he's gone. With extenuating circumstances, I get convicted of manslaughter. In jail, I write a book and upon my release I spend the rest of my life as a victim's rights advocate. When I die, I'm gone.
