It really depends what kind of potpourri you have: liquid, solid, oil or petals.

If it's solid, you can only really place it in a bowl or in a drawer as a sachet.

If it's liquid, you can either simmer it in a potpourri pot over a candle, on the stove or in a lightbulb ring.

Oil is used over a candle and in a lightbulb ring.

Petals scented with oil, etc. can be placed in a decorative bowl, in a small cloth bag and used as a drawer sachet. Make certain to stir it up now and again to release the scent.

You can put potpourri in a wooden or glass bowl or keep it in the packet itself..The gentle scent will spread in your house

I use it in baskets throughout my home, so that I get the fragrence. If its a dried potpourri that is pretty, I use it in my candle pans. I line the bottom with dried rosehips and cinnamon sticks that have been infused with cinnomon oil. It smells wonderful.
