okay, here's a mini lesson in hair chemistry...permanent hair Color is made up of small particles, which penetrate the hair strand...IF you're hair is damaged, the cuticle of your hair is open wider than normal, SO the small particles are getting washed out of your hair
Solution: Use a Demi Permanent color, it's made of Small AND large particles, the larger particles are supposed to sit ONTOP of the hairstrand, HOWEVER, if your hair is damaged, they will seep into the hair strand, and get trapped, Sooo it's less likely to wash out, Trust me, i NEVER use permanent hair color, i ALWAYS use a Demi Color, it hangs around a lot longer(if ur hair is already damaged), and it's ALOT less damaging to your hair
also, shampoo ur hair in cool water, it helps close the cuticle and helps prevent fading. be sure to use a good professional shampoo and conditioner made for color treated hair.
Plus, store bought color is not the best quality color, however, if you must use it, follow these directions, and i guarantee better results

Well go to a hair dresser and ask him
Well did u use the hair dye conditioner. Because it helps make the color last longer
U should not wash your hair right after dying your hair just wait like two days and then wash it

After each hair dye Its normal for hair dye residues to be washed away. This is not preventable. The color of the hair will be the color that is indicated in the box. I'm afraid there is nothing that can be done because what has been done has been done! Wait for the hair to grow again, trim them and select a different color hair dye.

It's pretty typical of home dye kits. Call the 800 number listed in the box. Tell them what color you want and that it is fading. The rep can tell you which two colors to mix to get a color that lasts longer. Don't try to pick out the colors on your own, some of them don't mix very well.
