i am on a F-1 visa, and have found lots of people who import products similar to what we manufacture. Is it legal for me to contact potential customer to refer them to my family business/ deal with them here?

i am a business major, so it's actually related to my major, i know .. that they say .. if we work off campus it has to be related to our major, and authorized.... so now.....would anyone be able to make it a more clear ... thanks for all your replies
