I was stuck in the snow and everytime the wheels broke traction in 4-hi or 4-low mode all of the power would go to the wheels that were not gripping. Doesn't sound like the 4x4 locks the differential, can anyone confirm this? thanks. (trail rated my @$$)

ya um no jeep besides the rubicon wrangler has fully locking differentials and im not sure about liberties but i know the wranglers get limited slips in them but in your case it sounds like you dont have anything and you simply have open differentials. in plus sorry to tell you this but the liberties have to be the only jeep that is no way no how trail rated and suck all together. but you can fix this is you would like by taking it somewhere that installs lockers or limited slips i wouldnt try putting one in though because axles are not a driveway install thing so.

these work on an actuator in the front,it has a fuse in the fuse panel that's marked 4 wheel drive,,check it first also check to see if the switch your using to lock it on with is working,,you should hear a click from It on the out side if its locking in,good ,other wise it may just be the fuse blown for it,, it should lock ii ,these don't hardly ever give any problems ,,good luck, hope this help,s.merry x-mas.

Ride your brakes lightly also to put power to the non-moving wheel.
