If we all dwell on the things that are negative in our lives, we would stop having Christmas all together. I always try to look at the good things. And, it sounds like the person your talking about should take a good long look at her or his-self. Only you can make you happy, don't ever expect others to fulfill your needs, you'll only be disappointed. Do what makes you feel better. You could start with what your thankful for.

Hello!! :o) People often make the mistake of thinking that Christmas is a time to be thankful for what you are GETTING [gift wise] when in fact it's much like 'Thanksgiving Day' in that it is a time to be thankful for what you have already GOT. But if one believes in the one who created them - then Christmas takes on a whole new meaning - for Christmas is a day to LOVE and to appreciate the love that God [and - perhaps - others] have for us. If we allow 'Walmart' to define Christmas for us - then we have lost the true meaning of that wonderful day. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Craig!! :o)

You've just described my situation perfectly. I won't be going to church, though. I don't need to go to church, or think of God's love, to be grateful for all of the postive things in my life.

I'll go to church because spiritual blessings are better than the material and physical needs .If I seek after the things of God , He is able to supply all these perishable needs.

Uh I don't go around feeling grateful when bad things happen to me. Those of the delusional/psychotic ilk do though...
