i had this problem, you have to persevre to grow it long, nothing you can take will help, having it cut into styles as it's growing will stop you getting pissed off with it. It took me 2 years to grow mine to shoulder length, it's just time that'll make it grow. Try straightening it to make it look longer. In the summer it'll grow quicker so look forward to that. Good luck - and patience!!!

Barbed wire? ROFL!!!!( there was me thinking my hair was bad, well it is afro, and tough like a brillo pad, and the only thing that keeps it in place is bloody hair gel lol!!

If you want to splash out.... take a trip to Nicky Clarke, im sure his expensive thermaglass straightners, will make your hair look gorgeous in no time!!

Conditioner is a good way to make it smooth...work out your hair type, i.e normal, oily, dry and work on what you need to do, to keep it looking good!

i'm only a white female. yet listen me out. My daughter has fantastic hair like mine yet curls like her daddy. She's biracial. Her hair does not develop for some thing. finally, i'd condition the crap out of it with black hair care products and get accepted trims ( each 6 weeks) to get the useless off and ward off breakage. Now her hair is healthful and turning out to be. that's nonetheless not quickly turning out to be yet truly diverse. good success.

Trim it a few centimeters every month and in that way the ends is healthy and it will grow faster without the split ends.

get it thinned SLIGHTLY
use conditioner in the shower--it works more than gel
you may need to take showers in the morning-- to untangle your hair

You could get it chemically straightened sometimes a little damage will help your hair to do what you want it to, but I would definitely get it thinned out a bit.

I think you need to go to a salon and ask them. It is hard for anyone here to answer this without seeing you. I have kinky hair also. Use coconut oil this will help to tame it.

really i would go to a hair salon and ask a professional what to do -- they usually have special shampoos and other products that they can sell you (but u can't buy them anywhere else besides for at a hair salon)...

i'd really ask the proffesionals tho -- they know best!!
