We are not from incest and the bible does not say we are born due to incest. If you believe the bible says we come from incest, you just don't understand the bible - period. I think you're nuts for believing such baloney.

The bible doesn't reveal all of the blood lines or ancestry from Adam and Eve, on down the line - only some. To assume that we came about as a result of incest is merely your speculation - not fact. God is against incest and is against sin, so why would He go ahead and cause man to have incest? Doesn't make a bit of sense to me! I don't know where you get the notion that the human race came from incest - it's not in the bible that we came about as a result of such sinful acts! If we are a result of incest, then we'd ALL be deformed and/or retarded in some way! Furthermore, God started the human race with the creation of Adam and Eve. They were not sister and brother who had intercourse with each other to start the human race - they were husband and wife created by God. Adam was created from the dust of the ground and God created Eve from a rib taken from Adam. Does the bible say they were brother and sister or father and daughter?? Re-read your statement: "If he only created Adam and Eve, then we are in fact, the children of incest". God created Adam and Eve to create the human race. If they were sister and brother, father and daughter or mother and son and we were born from a result of any of those circumstances, then we would be a result of incest, but that's not the case.

I used to think the same thing. Lol. Well, being a Unitarian Universalist I have not spent much time with the bible. But I do believe in the story of Adam and Eve their children married other people, who just appeared out of no where! It is not said that these are their siblings?!? This is what confuses me more! As for retardation, I suppose it depends on whether or not the linked gene is recessive or not in certain parents. Looks up the Amish community they have a large problem with this! Its crazy!

If you knew anything about the basics of genetics, you'd know that single instances of incest don't cause dementia or deformity. It requires regular insular reproduction over several generations for it to happen. Go look up the Vadoma people.

The difference between incest and preference is only the number of people involved. If two people marry and their families are all from that area going back many generations (ethnic English, ethnic Japanese, or whatever) it's still incestual, just not dangerous genetically as marrying one's sister.
