I need to know how to access the service menu of my LG 27lc2d HDTV. The overscan becomes an issue for many HDTV channels I get from DishNetwork. I was able to access the service menu without password (holding the Menu key on the remote and on the TV), but nothing can be saved. There is another way to access the service menu, but I don't have the password. I hope this other way will enable me to save changes I make to correct the overscan.

Update (12/28/2006): I was able to find my answer on avsforum.com as of yesterday. This tv actually allows users to customize an 'Expert' setting, where screen position/size can be adjusted. I've got my problem solved. Thanks anyway.

I highly recommend to leave your TV alone, especially the service mode.
You probably missed the fact that your new Dish remote has a little button to change the Aspect ratio (I missed it too in the beginning...). It is called format (or *) at the lower left of the remote.

It allows you to adjust the aspect ratio on the Dish box itself so it fits the TV. Press it continuously until you get the best picture (they have normal, strech, 4:3, etc.)

once you've cable or SAT you do not choose a converter field era. in case you purchased your channels off the air (use a antenna) you may choose a field. Does your television have a tuner? A style quantity would help. if so, it desires to have a ATSC tuner (digital) NSTC is the former, out going analog.
