From what I hear, he was really depressed and kept on saying that I was an idiot and like hating me... Then he starts saying hi to me and then he gave me a candy cane for Christmas... I'm confused.

Well considering that Candy Canes are sold usually in those big packs with like 20 all together, I would wonder who he gave the others to.

Sorry honey, a candy cane doesn't mean anything. If you really want it to mean something, it might be an apology for being such a jerk. But it sure isn't a sign that he wants to get back together.

I think he is just being friendly. It's the holidays and he wants to start the new years on a clean slate. I would not take this too seriously!
