My brother got his wisdom teeth out a week ago and is anxious to start drinking soda again...is there a time span that he needs to wait before he can start drinking them again?

not too sure. but tell him to take 4-5 Mentos with the soda, & call me in the morning....

...
just joke, kidding.
probably right away, or even 1 day. th doc who did the surgery should have already told U guys, or even given U a pamphlet where it's written.

the bubbly action often keeps bacteria away or down to a minimum. the unfortunate things about sodas are there HIGH content of Sugar, which can increase the bacteria levels normally found in your mouth. the carbonation part of the soda is from carbonic acid, (used to be called Soda water), has low pH... number less than 7pH. bacteria don't live well in acidic environments, so the low pH could help.

but the high sugar content will probably do more damage in less time, than the pH level trying to help in short time.

i say keep him off soda for as long as he can. keep brushing to keep most of OTHER areas clean. gargle with salt water to rinse thru the wisdow teeth area & keep THAT clean.

A week is a long enough wait. He should be able to drink anything now.
