OK, I've lost family close members (even a parent), but for whatever reason the recent loss of my cat of 13 years really really really makes me want to believe in an afterlife. He did have health issues, but was on medicine and seemed ok. Animals are innocent - and he was an exceptionally cool cat, very sociable and seemed to have a sense of humor (if that's possible). He was the runt of the litter and really sick when I got him as a kitten. His litter mates were running around like little crazed demons and he was smaller and sickly and just sat there. I couldn't stand to just leave him. He turned out to be the best companion. And let's be honest, when you take on a cat you don't know if you're going to get a cool member of the household or a creature that you feed and hides under your bed for 15 to 20 years. Since we don't have kids - I guess the pets are the closest thing. I'm crushed. Plus our other cat (who's about 16 years old) and we took in 3 years has been crying and crying...

First...All beings with souls go to heaven if ;
a) they do not sin
b) they repent of their sins
Second...
Since an animal, which has a soul, is incapable of sin, it should, therefore, go to heaven.
Third...
The reason your other cat keeps crying is her/his expression of loss & grief.
I know exactly what you are feeling. I had a cat..B.C., and I had her for 11 years. She was there BEFORE my son was born, and was the only pet he knew for 9 years. When she died, it floored the both of us. A family member had died and the grief was/is as real as if a person had died. Alot of folks say "Just go out and get another" but it's not that simple! How can you "replace" a member of your family?
I feel for you. Hang in there!

First, you have my deepest sympathy at the loss of your cat.
On the one hand, I've had the fortune to have several cats live well into their teens. On the other hand, it is SO like losing a family member, and the pain is just as deep.
And, another answer sums up your other cats behavior correctly. He's missing his friend, he is grieving.
Unfortunately, there isn't really solid proof in the Bible that animals will be with us in heaven. But there are many references to Gods' love and care for animals. The Scriptures also make mention of the fact that we shall want for nothing when we join Him in Heaven. While our perception of what we need may change once we are gone from this earth, many of us can't, at this time, imagine being happy without our four-legged family members. They have played so great a role in our lives, providing us with companionship, and unwaiverable love and devotion. I have often felt that our pets - and even other types of animals - are gifts from God to us to comfort and attend to us in our time of need - whatever that need may be.
I know that I haven't given you a definitive answer to your question, just my thoughts (and hopes) on the matter.
Again, I am so sorry about the death of your friend.

I believe that animals go wherever we go. If I can be rewarded for living a good life, then surely other animals can be as well.
Sorry about your loss. I lost a 16-year-old cat almost two years ago and his sister just over a year ago--I still feel the void.

It certainly depends on your beliefs. If you believe in the Holy Bible then animals would go to heaven because of

"The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox." Isa 11:6-7

Yes, they do...it's called the Rainbow Bridge. My cat Sylvester passed away in 1998 after 14 years of being my companion during the best and worst times...

And by the way Defender and Altamonte...you both are sick , perverted people. I truly pity you(sarcasm), you're so hard hearted.

I sincerely hope so, otherwise my old Mother was very disappointed. In her old age, she once said to me that she had a confession to make. I asked her what she had been up to and she said 'When I die and go to Heaven, I am not worried if I never see your Father again, I just want to be with my old cats and dogs'............... God is good, I am sure He looked after her...

Of course they do. Heaven is where everything is perfect. It wouldn't be perfect without all of your loved ones, no matter how many legs they had on earth.
