I'm sure that if you were gentle and sweet to the doberman it would be to you. I would personally reccomend a pitbull. They are the most people friendly dogs that there are as long as you are nice to them. They actually do better in temperment testing than golden retrievers. I have a pitbull and personally know 6 others that are owned by friends. They are all the most loveable dogs ever. The only thing to keep in mind is that they have a lot of energy especially when they are a puppy. You will have to walk them and play with them to get the energy out, then they will just sleep on your lap for the rest of the day. I love my pitbull he is the best 80lb lapdog ever. Even my niece and nephew like him more than their boring black lab.

I say Golden Retriever, too. I have 2 of them and they are both sweet and very loving, one is just a puppy, but still never bites, just licks. They're both very nice dogs, I definitely would recommend them! Anyways, all dogs CAN be sweet and gentle, it just depends on how they're raised and trained. Good luck!

Most people are saying Golden Retrievers. They are cute as puppies, and they are fluffy, fun to hug, and gentle. Personally, i love labs. Yellow labs, they have the cutest little FACES! So do golden retrievers. I also want a dog. A golden retriever. My neighbor has two golden retrievers, and one is so well trained that it doesnt need a leash to go on a walk with his owner. Two golden retrievers. Beautiul dogs. I hope you get the dog that you dream of.

All dogs can be like that if trained properly.

I have a friend who has a doberman that is the softest animal you could ever meet.

I have Chocolate lab and he is the sweetest! but if a lab isn't for you then maybe consider getting a West Highland White Terrier:)

shiba inu's ae nice dogs, just not exactly sure how to spell it. They stay small, and grow up to still have a puppy face, don't bark, for the several i know, and have the cutest faces! They look like mini huskeys.

bichon frises are just the best doggies. they're small but sturdy. the only thing is that they need to be brushed at least 2-3 times a week.

Either a Golden or a Flat Coat Retriever will be the best friend you've ever had.

Golden retrievers have the best temperament by far, Over any other dog, they're good with all people and strange people in the house...they're big and loveable..
