As a commercial event as it is increasingly becoming?

I agree with the person who said that Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. Christians stole this holiday from the pagans, almost like Bush Stole the election in 2000, and almost for the same reason.

it's not "increasingly becoming". Since all the stuff sold now comes from china it only stands to reason that the stores who sell their stuff want to call it Happy Holidays so as not to offend them or anyone. But as you see on tv, hear on the radio, and this year especially, we put Jesus back into Christmas. And Christmas IS the birth of christ so how could there be a Christmas without Jesus? Maybe you misstated your question.

To add a footnote here: People are the ones who "make" Christmas...if it's distintrigating in your house it's because you are letting it disintigrate by not sending "CHRISTmas cards", going to church, staying after church and reflecting, praying in the home, breaking bread and saying prayers before and after meals and taking advantage of the holyday by singing CHRISTmas carols, having your minister visit your home, etc. etc.

If someone said for your birthday we are going to reflect, and that was your gift..what would you think of that gift?

Whats the best way to give CHRIST a gift?

In answer to this question since there is a separtion of 'chruch' and state the meaning is kept alive by believers that fight to keep the event alive.
Its already become something that has overshadows the true meaning, but so long as their are believers wiling to effort to show what the day is truly bout, then theres still hope that CHRISTmas will be a day of CHRIST's birthday.
How we celebrate depends on how strong we believe in CHRIST

Yes. It was never about Jesus. The Christian Romans wanted to covert the northern barbarians, so to keep them pacified they turned their Winter Solstice feast into a Christian thing.

Think about it. Jesus was born in a manger, right? At night. That means Mary and Joseph were walking. Outside. At night. Why, why, WHY would they do that, knowing Mary was very close to birth, if it was freezing cold winter outside?

Truth is, Jesus was born sometime in May.

Jesus is the reason for the Christmas Season. With Christ there is Christmas. Go to Church or see the Midnight Mass on TV .

I've never allowed religion to interfere with Christmas for over thirty years and it hasn't diminished my enjoyment of it. Be realistic-Christmas nowadays is commercialised and secular and nothing more than an excuse for some fun and festivities.

Jesus most certainly will have a future with or without Christmas.
It is OK to acknowledge the child, however salvation does not come from the child, it comes from what that child became. Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our Savior is who I seek.

True Christmas is celebrated in our homes and Churches...not at the shopping mall.

You are only responsible for how you celebrate it. You are not responsible for making others celebrate it a certain way.
