can a girlfriend be also your best friend ? I meant is it balanced to have the girlfriend occupy the place of the either the lover and also the best friend ...? or isn't better to have a best friend separate from the girlfriend , and keep the girlfriend as only a lover ?

I don't think your girlfriend should necessarily be your bestfriend, cause you have to remember that's your girl. Now let's say, if u went to the club with the guys (keep in mind ur gf is your bestfriend) and you tell her about some chick that was hitting on you at the bar, being a girl and knowing a lot of girls... they would get jealous, some girls tend to get more jealous than others, but if a girl tell u that they never been jealous by something that they bf said or did with the opposite sex is... A BIG FAT LIAR! But then again, choosing a best friend is like your walking talking diary, with a bestfriend u can tell any and everything too without them going back and tell your business to anyone. You can't really trust a lot of people, but having a bestfriend is a gift, and make sure u choose wisely on who u pick that person to be, but I don't think that should be your girlfriend.

Yes I do believe your girlfriend can be your best friend. But you can have other besties. Your best friend is the one you can't wait to tell things to, who you like if possible to include in the things you do. They are always there for you, By only keeping your girlfriend as a lover, your not thinking very much of her. Your only seeing her as a temporary thing, while a bestie is there permanently.

Having a bestfriend and a lover as one is like the best thing anyone could ever ask for. She can be your crazy buddy when watching a football game play video games with you and also be romantic. It's the best thing in the world i know from experience but really its best for it to be like seperate because if ya'll break up its gonna be hard cuz you can't talk about your problems to your best friend because thats the one who was having a relationship with you. I know from experience. I've lost my best friend oveer a year ago and i thought she was the love of my life so i felt like i lost both. But i moved on and realized that i didn't need her but yeah enough about me! lol well its best to keep both seperate cuz like if you have problems with ur lover you can talk about them with your best friend if you wanted too. YES of course she can in fact it's even better if your girlfriend is your best friend because it means you can be lovers and great friends as well-listening and talking to each other....i dont think it matters at all apart from if you brake up, then that could ruin your friendship

I think that ideally your girlfriend would be your best friend or one of your best friends. That helps strengthen a relationship if that is how you both feel. Just remember not to ignore your other friends because you have a girlfriend. I have lost friends when they decide that they do not have time for me.

No. Your girlfriend SHOULD be your best friend. In fact, people who marry- yes I said marry, calm down- girlfriends/boyfriends who they have more in common with than just an enjoyable sex life tend to be much happier than the others.

Best to have her as both! Trust, chemistry, and genuine love all play a factor.
Also, having a lot of the same interests helps!
My girl is my best friend.....can share anything with her.
It's much better that way....sharing everything. (no secrets)

Most of the time your girlfriend is either a good friend or best friend. I know when my parents were Married that they were Best friends. Its good to have her as a bestfriend because you can talk to her about stuff more simply.
