Probably because you're doing something to him that he doesn't like.

If the cat punctures your skin it may be in pain or has a behavior problem. Mine have always given little love bites, especially when they were kittens. They grew out of the habit when their teeth fully developed.

cats like to "play fight". it is affectionate. they learned how to survive in the wild and fend for themselves from their mother cat, who would "play fight" with them to show them what to do. your cat is probably doing this with you. it may look like aggression, but it is probably just this mock battle going on.
teach the cat that you don't like it. spraying the cat with water works because the cat associates biting you with water, so the cat will get trained not to do it. never hit your cat, it is mean and cats don't understand it. spraying them works wonders and is non-violent.
you can spray your cat to get off the counter, stop clawing the furniture, and any other behavior you find annoying. cats are very trainable.

sometimes those bites are just nips...intended to be "kitty kisses" a form of affection. Cats are their own creatures and if we are to be companion with them we must understand their rules, it isn't the other way around at all with cats, perhaps you are being shown what the boundries are.

all cats defend themselves...some more than others...my cat's declawed so she doesnt scratch - she bites...if your cats declawed that might be why, but they usually do at one point just some more than others

Depends..If young,
he could be teething just
like us humans...
putting Oral -Gel on his
gums does the trick..
If an older cat, he could
be that he is uncomfortable with his
surroundings........

'Cause he/she is a cat.
Be more specific, please. We all need to know what and when he/she is biting.
